Title: How to change primary PCI-E card on MA785G-UD3H
Post by: njuneardave on June 17, 2011, 12:12:12 am

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to create a crossfire setup on my gigabyte mobo, which is xfire enabled, but the second PCI-E slot is only 4x.

Well, I installed the cards and the drivers, but AMD Vision Engine Control Center shows the 4x card as the primary. I looked through BIOS but found no way to change the primary card. Can anyone PLEASE help?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

If you only have two slots and one is only 4x then the crossfire is not going to work to it's full performance. Graphics cards need an 8x slot or more to work properly.

I don't think there is any way to change the slot heirarchy but the 16x is normally at the top anyway.

The specifications for the MA785G-UD3H say it supports ATI Hybrid CrossFireX.

The specifications for the GA-890GPA-UD3H say it supports ATI Hybrid CrossFireX and ATI CrossFireX.

Your board is not a ATI CrossFireX model. ATI Hybrid CrossfireX uses the integrated graphics and a single Hybrid CrossfireX compatible card.
