Title: GA-EP45-UDR3 v1.0 - No beeps with failed POST
Post by: fn_tool on September 16, 2009, 05:54:13 pm
I'll start by saying my system is now fine, but I had an issue.

I knocked the case over on it's side which, after trouble-shooting, dislodged the graphics card out of the slot enough to keep the machine from having a successful POST.

I imagine I should have heard either one long beep followed by 2 short or just longs beeps over & over when I first powered back up.

So after I get the machine humming along, I try to figure why no beeps.  I can't find a piezo on the MB.

Do I have to have a good old fashioned case speaker to hear my POST beepy codes?

yes, you need such additional speaker while MB does not have a piezo one

Thanks BK....I found a little piezo beepy speaker w. the 4 pin plug on it..ordered it online, I'll try it.  Now, I just gotta remember to pull it off the MB next time I swap it out!
