Title: GA-870A-USB3L wont boot with sapphire 5850 xtreme 1GB

Hey guys
I just bought a new video card sapphire hd5850 xtreme 1gb ddr5 but this card refuse to boot with my GA-870-USBL mainboard.
When i turn on the pc with this card the pc wont display anything on the screen and mainboard post 1 long beep and 2 shorts beep which according to the manual this  a vga problem.
I have checked all the cables and tried with diferent powersupplies from 350w to 560w seasonic,antec,fsp but no luck.my mainboard is right now working with ati hd3850,but i also have tried with friends ati hd6850,hd6950,nvidia 8600gt all of them worked perfectly in my pc.
I dont why the sapphire 5850 xtreme dont boot with my mainboard because this card  works in friends mainboards asus M3A79-T Deluxe,ASUS CROSSHAIR IV EXTREME,Gigabyte P35-DQ6.
I am not sure but i think that the videocard or the mainboard have compatibility problem,i would like to know if this problem can be solved with a new mainboard bios version.

This is my pc specs:
Mainboard: GA-870A-USB3L(rev. 3.1)
M/B Rev: 3.1
BIOS Ver: F3
VGA: SAPPHIRE HD 5850 Xtreme 1GB GDDR5
CPU:  AMD phenom II 720  2,8ghz
Memory: Kingston KHX1600C9D3X2K2/4GX DDR3 2x2GB 1600 mhz
Power Supply: 560 seasonic X560 W,antec 430w,fsp 350w

Hi there,

as you say, this would seem to be a BIOS issue and the best advice I can offer is that you contact GGTS here: http://ggts.gigabyte.com/tech.asp?ClassID=2&Country=Spain&SourceWeb=B2C telling them about the problem your facing. It could take several days before you get a response so don't worry if it takes them a while to get back to you.

The only other thing I can think of is if the GPU needs a Firmware or BIOS update have you checked to see if any are available for your card?

Hi
Last week i contacted with ggts, they have said that as they dont have sapphire card they will try with there gigabyte card and it will take long time to solve this problem.
I will try again in friends pc to see bios version and if get new bios from sapphire i will flash it.

Was this GGTS at a local level or Taiwan ? It's just I can't believe that they dont have a Sapphire card to test it with.

After flashing the firmware if you still have problems I would be inclined to lok at the PSU further. The 350 is not powerful enough by any means and the others may not bne as powerful as they state if they are not new now.

I contacted with GGTS Taiwan and my pc was tested with psu 350w fsp,430w antec and seasonic 560w, with all these psu s with pc make 1 long and 2 short beeps,i tried the card in the lower pciex port 4x but same problem.
