Hi Guys,
Hoping you might have some wisdom to share :)
Just recently upgraded the PC to use one of these new great MB's and 2x GTX 580 video cards.
Everything works a treat till I start to play in SLI mode.
I upgraded the Nvidia drivers to 275.50 which was required to support SLI on these new MB's
The 580 video cards (2.5 height cards - really 3 as they block 3 in height) are plugged into SLOTS PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX8. I'd love to use 16_2 but the cards are too high :)
In terms of MB BIOS I'm using what was shipped as the F3 update changes didnt have anything SLI related.
So the experience when I turn on SLI is as per normal with BUT the screen is in some low res mode even thought software is reporting it is 1900x1200.
Benchmarks seem to indicate the 2nd card isnt adding any real FPS value even tho there is workload during tests...
Oops forgot to mention yes the SLI bridge is connected.
System Specs
AMD 6 core cpu (stock clocks)
2x 580 video cards (gpu drives 1 26", gpu drives a 26+24)
16gb ram
Have no issues apart from SLI :)
Thanks in advance

Well, I know that when Absic tries using his ATi cards in Crossfire, the second card isnt detected and this seems to be one of many issues with the BIOS.
This to me looks like a similar issue, and might be worth following the general advice given in this thread: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,5939.0.html

Cheers! Had a good read of the other thread. Looks to be mostly Voltage related on OC'ing 6 core CPU's.
I'm playing stock settings till I get SLI bedded down :)
Was hoping to see if anyone else had been running SLI'd 580's here without issue so I know the fault is more me, hedging a little as I know the board is hot off the blocks!
Thanks

Sorry, no 580 SLI on my end, just 480 SLI, and so far its working just fine. So I do not have any ideas off the top of my head for you. I'll sleep on it and see if I can think of anything for you to try.

Thanks Lordred are 480's 2 slot cards or 2.5's? One thought I had was I found an issue using the 16x and 8x slots. I figure most 2 slot card sli users simply use 16x1 and 16x2 unless of heat issues etc.
Cheers

One thing I would advise is to use the latest BIOS update anyway as they often don't list all the fixes when they release these updates and there could be a solution in just flashing to the new BIOS.

I received the f5b BIOS and deployed.
Lots of playing around but things are working now. I'm not ruling out a NVIDIA SLI software bug as at least part of the challenge :)
Many thanks for the help guys (esp to Absic)
I've now a pair of 580's that SLI nicely on these boards :) :)
Cheers

Now that's something you don't see very often .... a happy Aussie.... unless of course they are thumping us at cricket, rugby or some other sport! :D
Pleased the F5b seems to have helped.
