Title: GIGABYTE GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD & Windows XP install. ez Smart Response won't work.

Due to the work I do, I have to have windows XP as the base OS.

I have installed the OS and I noticed two things:

1) EZ Smart Response is not in the menu on the GIGABYTE drivers disk on XP to install.
2) EZ Smart Response can be downloaded from the GIGABYTE site and it installs on XP.  (It even lists Windows XP on the page)

at any rate, when you launch the EZSR application, it states:

This windows OS version can't be supported.

So is Smart Response Technology useable on Windows XP?  If so, could someone please clue me into the steps to take to make it happen using EZ Smart Response Tool?

all instructions or videos I have seen are for Windows 7.

For information purposes, I have used windows update over and over to make sure i am completely updated.  Also, this is a LEGIT windows XP disk (i can send a screenshot of the packagaing if necessary.)

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

I would imagine that XP is just not supported in any form and that is why you have only seen Windows7 on all the instruction videos. Don't forget that even Micro$oft doesn't support XP any more.

thanks for your reply.

1)  does gigabyte tech people come in here?  can they confirm there is NO WAY to use SRT on windows XP?
2) is there another way to contact gigabyte support, as it seems that they don't come in here.

You won't find many Gigabyte staff in here at all and certainly not the tech guys. The best thing I can suggest is to contact GGTS directly and see if they can help you at all.
