Title: GA-X58A-UD7 USB Issues with iPhone
Post by: Tularis on July 17, 2011, 07:38:21 pm
So I reformatted today,

Everything is back working (more or less), but every time I plug my Iphone into my PC it is not detected as a phone.
Its detected as a Storage device, but no phone for either Itunes or Winamp to Sync with.

I have a feeling this is to do with the USB 3.0 stuff....
I have checked the phone on an other computer and it is working, and I have also checked ever USB port...

Any have a clues??

Hi

Not being an Apple fanboi I can't test to see if it is the same on mine. Have you tried it on the USB2.0 ports ? If so does it work on them ?

Yup, Tried it on all USB ports... and the same effect... I think it could be possibly something to do with iTunes... :(
But there doesn't seem to be any email support unless its "Store" Related..

I just can't for the life of me figure out was is causing this..

It's driving me crazy.

It's detected all on my other computer in Itunes, I have done a complete re-install, and even reset the phone back to factory settings.
Some times it is detected, but when you unplug is and plug it back it, Itunes just freezes.
The only way to bodge it was to move my Itunes Library to another computer and use that to sync, which leaves me to believe it's something to do with my computer, or USB ports....

All other USB ports / Devices are working, I even disabled the USB 3 in the BIOS and uninstalled the USB software but still no luck.
And no one seems to be replying to my thread in the apple forums :(..

Its rather silly apple don't have email support only telephone where I would had to perform all the steps I have done before...

Yes I can understand how it must be making you feel at the moment especially with no help from the iTunes crowd. I am afraid though that there is nothing more I can do to help and nobody else seems to know either. :-\
