Hey, i have the gigabyte GA-EG41MF-US2H motherboard, the problem is that even though i've told it to boot the pci-e video card(nvidia 275) it won't! well unless i press the reset button after its started loading windows. Im baffled, any ideas guy!!

In advanced chipset features in the BIOS is it set to "enable if no Ext PEG" Also you're going to want to set "init display first" as "PEG" Are you also using the latest BIOS revision?
-
hey thanks for the reply, im using the latest bios firmware, and i've done that already. It must be something to do with the nvidia card, as when i put another card in, it boot fine.
im completly lost as to what the problem is.

Oh right, possibly a fault somewhere with the card then? Could try RMA the card?
-
i think its because the card seems to take 20 seconds to initialise, and that board doesnt wait and starts posting and loading the os. its working on another board with no built in video. cheers for the help. ;D

No worries, let us know how you get on :)

Set it so that the board has on-board disabled and that it outputs to PCI-E first (default is the onboard / PCI)

Hes already done that by the looks of it and he also says that its only his 275 card that does it

There's 2 bits you need to change though, just making sure he's done both. TBH though, my GTX295 depending on how my PC feels (especially ona first boot of the day) takes ~20s before it'll kick up a picture....

is that a 295 feature or an Asus feature? ;)

ROFL no idea, but upon reboot it shows the image straight away so..... who knows? I think I'll get shot for saying any stronger words about Asus
