Title: Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AMD 890GX rev 2.1 BIOS Query
Post by: drenco on July 29, 2011, 12:00:03 am
Hi i have recently purchased this MB and now have decided to change my CPU to a Phenom II X6 1100T BE, however upon investigation ive noticed that the 2.1 rev MB is only supported a BETA Bios (fgf) for this CPU, does anyone have any experience with this combo, and is it a good idea to use a BETA bios?

Hi

In general beta BIOS versions are fine especially if you found it on this website because by the time it gets uploaded here it is almost the full version.

Hi there,

as DM has said, once a BETA is officially released onto their download site they are usually pretty stable.

If it helps allay your fears, I am currently running a BETA BIOS (my 3rd one) on my own machine that hasn't been "officially" released yet and it is working fine without any BSOD's.

Yers I too am running a beta version and have done many times in the past with no problems at all. In fact sometimes they actually work better than the previous BIOS version because of a ammendment to the code.
