Title: Dizzy spells.
Post by: DayoffDave on July 31, 2011, 02:35:58 pm
Hi,  I have the Gigabyte GTX 460 card and I belive the shiny black shroud is making me feel dizzy and my stomach as well. It feels like I have the flu but only in my room where my comp is at.

I swaped the card over with my old 8800 GT and feel good now. But when I use the GTX 460 I feel sick again (go figure).
Had the same problem with a piar shiny black sunglasses, when ever I wore them I felt dizzy. :o

Has anyone have the same problem as I do?  I'm seeing a specialist about it when I can get in.

But really, how can I remove the shroud and just keep the fans on???...  or is there a better way to modify the card to solve my problem?

Any help would be great.

Cheer's.

Hi and welcome.

Sorry I can't help with your malaise but I might be able to offer an option as far as the card goes, what about watercooling it ? That way you can rid yourself of the whole shroud and fans and have an efficient and silent solution into the process. ;)

Good idea but can't afford it right now.  Was thinking water cooling on my next major up grade.

I would like to just take the shroud off and stick some good quite fans on (hopefuly they wont give fumes) that fit and work well with the GTX 460.

Would someone know a good combination to do this?
A bit of a step by step would be great on how to do.

I am sure that there are several different varieties around and none of which will give off fumes the same as any fans used for PC cooling purposes. What  would mention though is that doing any modifications like that will invalidate the warranty.
