For those of you like myself who have purchased the recently new AMD 990FXA-UD3 chipset for the upcomming Bulldozer (AM3+) CPU's by AMD and are running into issues via BIOs there is a BETA version available thats floating around. As for why its not on the Offical website of Gigabyte i don't really know and it seems most there attention is toward the UD5 & 7, even posted on there BIOs tab. As always tread carefully as BETA... well it speaks for itself, it isn't a finish product. Many people have said this version is very stable and solved many of the common issues with RAID 0 64bit, accessing BIOS and things of that nature.
You can download it here: http://www.overclock.net/attachments/amd-motherboards/222262d1312007798-official-gigabyte-ga-990fxa-series-owners-99fxaud3.zip (http://www.overclock.net/attachments/amd-motherboards/222262d1312007798-official-gigabyte-ga-990fxa-series-owners-99fxaud3.zip)
Taken from forum board here: http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/1023100-official-gigabyte-ga-990fxa-series-owners-66.html#post14400432 (http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherboards/1023100-official-gigabyte-ga-990fxa-series-owners-66.html#post14400432)
Feel free browse the forum for many peoples issues and responces, its a big thread. Have at it!

Hi,
thanks for the link, I'm sure it will help those looking for an update for this board.

If you ask Gigabyte tech like I did then they will give you the latest beta bios for this board and that is F3c.
I have had this version of the bios for over a week but you will not notice anything different.
There is no vdroop on the UD3 board, it is v boost and is by design.

I have noticed a big difference already, i couldnt even access the bios Q-flash without it constantly freezing, after 6 force restarts i had to result toward downloading @BIOS software and flash it inside windows. The out of box bios were terrible, can't even access your own product? thats not quality.
I have not tested yet but RAID0 64bit Drivers are suppose to work now aswell. Not really feeling like reformatting all over again just to get a personal test, but othes say they work now.
I Mostly use RAID 0 because of my SSDs and they FLY in an array function and not being able to use them at full potential is quite a hinder from another peice of hardware flaws.
As for the version CPU-Z stats otherwise its F3b, if you could direct me to F3c id be more then happy to update this and try it out.

Also note the Southbridge "SB850" looks like Gigabyte skipped corners and rehashed there past gen products, atleast have the decency to mask it so it looks like a 950...

I have not had any problems with this board, not even with the F2 bios it came with.
No probs with flashing the bios or anything else.
Had no issues getting into the bios not even the first time with the default bios.
As for cpu-z, I never rely on it and I use AIDA64 Extreme.
At least that shows the actual chipset and not misread it.
With this program it shows the southbridge as what it is and that is the 950.

I would frequently hang during post if i would hit any of the key to access any bios features, usualy had to hold it down. This could be a RAID funtion only issue, if your not setting up any RAID array and have not ran into any issues then i would understand, but unless you are thats very strange.
As i said before trying to get into Q-Flash from hit END key simply froze my bios, all there was is the ticking underscore.
You are indeed correct about the chipset it is SB950, my mistake, but as for bios they still seem the same version of F3b

They need to fix the Core Unlocker, it ain't working properly. :)

Well i learner with the 890fx board do not get revision 1 and buy it as soon as it comes out. Took forever to get the bugs out so now i sit and wait and watch this forum till i see a decent 990 board. Only thing i dont like is no ide on board. There goes 2 dvd drives.
-
And the dvd drive is so expensive that you need an ide plug on board.

I must admit that was my first thought when I read it! They are so cheap now it is just as well to replace them anyway for the extra performance.
-
Oh i have both and some to spare like 5 ide and 4 sata i just hate wasteing them.
-
There comes a time when they just have to meet the refuse bin! I would suggest any IDE ones you have left are good candidates.
-
Id rather donate them to others that only use 1 drive. And cant afford to upgrade yet.
