Title: GA-P55A-UD3 (rev. 1.0) Problem - PC Crash while playing some games
Post by: MB30 on August 19, 2011, 01:39:52 pm
1st hi to all members and staff of this forum!

My PC Looks like this:
MBO: GA-P55A-UD3 (rev. 1.0)
CPU: Intel i5 750
GPU: Gigabyte ATI HD5770
HDD: WD C Green 2TB (OS Boot) + WD C Blue 1TB + Samsung F3 1TB
RAM: 2x2GB 1333MHz DDR3 Kingsmax
OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1

The problem happened while i was playing the game Battlefield Heroes, so i went on their forums and seen that other people have same problem: while playing PC freezes and with freezed picture sound repeats last second of sound over and over again. And that happens after few minutes of play.

Now, I thought it was only for Battlefield Heroes, as many other have that issue, but it also happened few weeks ago when i tried to play Call of Duty 2.

The thing is that friend who played it with me had no problems, and he has same GPU as me, same Boot HDD, 2x2GB 800MHz DDR2 RAM, a GA-EP45-UD3 with Intel E8400

I will try to reinstall windows in next few days, but in that time i would be greatful if anyone would have any advice on what it could be

And yeah, after having problems for the 1st time i've reinstalled and updated all drivers so i am running on latest drivers!

Thanks,
MBuha

Hi and welcome.

I suspect that your problem comes from your hard drive. I know your friend has the same one but all systems are different. The Western Digital Green hard drives are no good for use as boot drives mainly because they are always trying to power down at any opportunity. Try using one of your other non green drives as a boot drive and see if the problem persists.

Thanks a lot for the tip!

And i forgot to mention that i have no problems with games that require more of a performance. And eventh oi dont play games a lot as dont have time for it, i've tried CoD2 for fun as we used to play it long time ago  :)

When i get time next week i'll try to install windows on other HDD, and in meantime will try to put graphics and all on max for this 2 games.

Cheers

It is disk accessing that will need to be increased not necessarily performance related actions.
