Under the specifications tab on the official Gigabyte website for the GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 motherboard it says that:
1. Support for ATI CrossFireX™/NVIDIA SLI technology (PCIEX16 and PCIEX8)
* The PCIEX16 slot operates at up to x8 mode when ATI CrossFireX™/NVIDIA SLI is enabled.
Yet on the same page where it says View detailed schematic it shows that the SLI/Crossfire support is pointing at the 16x/4x pci express slots
(http://www.gigabyte.us/fileupload/LineImage/2/3854/4922.jpg)
From top to bottom the PCB has the slots labeled:
16x (blue)
1x (white)
4x (blue)
8x (blue)
My questions are:
1.) Is there a misprint on the PCB board itself? (IE the 8x and 4x are labeled incorrectly in the manufacturing process)
2.) Is the View detailed specifications image labeled incorrectly? (IE the red lines should be pointing at the 16x/8x slots)
3.) Is the specifications note incorrect? (IE this board is for 16x/4x SLI/Crossfire)
4.) Which slots should I plug my two video cards into for SLI/Crossfire?
Thank you,
Steve

I would think that it is merely an error on the schematic and the RED lines should show the PCIEx16_1 and the PCIEx8_1 slots. This would be the obvious choice for two reasons. Firstly that the second card will work to it's full potential in the x8 slot and secondly that the cards would remain cooler with more space between them. I have just checked your manual and if you read page 19 it quotes
Observe the steps in "1-5 Installing an Expansion Card" and install two CrossFireX/SLI graphics cards on the PCIEX16 and PCIEX8 slots.

I've came to the same conclusion and thank you. ;)
