Title: Boot loop without HDMI monitor GA-Z68XP-UD3
Post by: ianm2k4 on September 01, 2011, 11:24:28 pm
I have built a 'standard' install - no OC or otherwise. Windows 2008 R2 (though that has nothing to do with the issue).

Whenever I start the pc without a monitor plugged in it never boots. I don't hear a beep or anything. It starts, after about 10s it shuts down and restarts. It never gets as far as the POST (I guess).

If I plug a monitor in at any time, it boots fine without an issue.

How can I make it boot without a monitor. I have tried setting no halt on errors.

Hi

Have you made sure that you actually have a buzzer installed so that you can physically hear the POST beeps ?

If so it should be telling you what is wrong.

Yes I have a buzzer installed. It makes the usual single beep when it boots up properly.

OK, so what beep code does it emit if you leave the RAM off the board and try and boot ?
