Title: Z68XP-UD4 10MB Network Speed

Swapped out motherboard/CPU/RAM from an ASUS P5Q-E on an existing gigabit network.  Problem is even after two windows installations I am only getting a 10MB network connection from the UD4 board.  Using a CAT6 cable that was previously working to a gigabit switch which is fed to a Dlink 655 router.  I tried using the drivers from the included CD and also the newer ones on gigabyte's site.  If I view in task manager network tab it shows 10MB and I can't speed test higher than that on my 25MB comcast connection.  I changed the advanced settings in device manager from autonegotiate to 1GB/Full but no change.

Windows 7 x64 SP1
2600K, F4 Bios, 16GB Corsair memory kit, not overclocked (yet)

Any ideas?

OK in the bios and did the LAN test and it came back with 10mb and an incorrect cable length.  That should remove the Windows driver from the possible issues and sounds like a physical motherboard issue.  I also tried 2 additional cables that connect with 1GB speeds to my laptop.  I also tried connecting directly to both my gigabit router and my gigabit switch with no luck.  I guess i'll be returning this board tomorrow :(

Hello Ronny,

Suggest you first try to use "ARP Offload" in the Advance Property of your controller.

I'll be damned but that worked.  Unplugged for about 10 minutes and back to 1GB.  I appreciate it.

OK this morning after a few reboots and playing with OSX86 I'm back to 10MB.  I don't really want to have to unplug my computer for 10 minutes everday.  Is this normal for these boards or should I return it while it's new?

I am not familiar with OSX so I don't know if it could be something to do with that OS. Does it do the same thing with only Windows installed ?

Ronny,

If you have not done so already call the support section of your ISP and request their assistance with your problem. Try to call while your system has dropped down to 10Mb with your computer online and you at the keyboard. The tech should be able to test your line and guide you through re-setting your connection. Keep your system set up simple so that you get their full cooperation. Most of these techs are very knowledgeable and helpful. Cost you nothing to try and you might just get lucky.
