I just purchased this premium board at newegg and was looking for the wake on lan option in the bios. I don't even see one. Does this board not support that basic functionality? I see some evidence to the fact that it may not. If so that is seriously disappointing for such a premium priced board.

I don't have this board but remember reading of a BIOS update that gave it PCI-E Wake on LAN functionality.....it'll cost you a card but if you really need the feature.....it,s a fix....hope this helps 8)

Yeah I need the feature. Thought I'd have to change out the board. What do you mean it will cost me a card? Do you have more info on this?

You can spend a little or a hell of a lot...........heres a read to get you going which should give you some ideas........

If you need some help in finding a card ..... give me a budget of what you're willing to spend .....single port , dual, 4 port , read up on features, if your not going to use them, why pay for them
Heres one example in the hell of a Lots category .......http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-UG-I4.cfm
or one out of Hong Kong for $22 US .....WOL support single port.....enjoy

I would agree with Allan and suggest that you would need to find a BIOS version that supports it initially. If you can do that then you can take it from there.

So I picked up an intel pro/1000 GT that supports wol. Now I notice my network traffic going out through that instead of the killer nic. How should I configure the new intel card so that it is only available for WOL and the killer nic handles all other network traffic?
-
looks like just unchecking the ipv4 and ipv6 on the adapter properties works just fine. All traffic through killer nic but wol works on the intel gt1000 pci.

Sounds feasible anyway. Well done for laying your problem to rest, or maybe even putting it to sleep! ;D

I need to find out if this method will work with the G1 Assassin 2 which I believe has the same Bigfoot NIC. Or in addition does it also need a bios update to enable it?
