Hi There
Was wondering if anyone knew if it's possible to add an extra USB 3.0 port to the GA-X58A-UD3R.
I know that there are 2 of these ports on the back panel but I'd like to have something more accessible on the front panel via something like an Icy Box.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi there is no reason why you can't but you are going to have to use a flying lead from the rear port to the front to make the connection. The other way would be to use an add on card which can supply both ports on the back and internal connections.

Thanks for that - was hoping that there was an internal connector I'd missed....
Easiest way is probably to go for an external USB 3.0 hub from one of the existing back panel ports.

Yes but hubs come with their own problems often. I would make sure that it is a powered hub if that is the case.

Yeah I've had my fair share of hub problems in the past..
May opt for internal pci adapter plus card reader/ usb3.0 combo.

I think that would be the safer/better option in the end and probably not much more costly.
