Title: ASUS XONAR DX PCI-E - will it fit in top PCI-E slot?
Post by: timtom33 on October 03, 2011, 09:56:27 am
Hi,

This is a long shot, but does anyone have a ASUS XONAR DX PCI-E sound card installed in the top PCI-E X1 slot on a GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 board and does it fit? Or do the RAM slots get in the way due to the length of the card?

I've done some measuring - but its too close to call... the sound card is 170mm in length...

Thanks,

Tom

Hi

I cannot say for sure as I don't have the motherboard in question but I would have thought that it should fit as all these things are made to the ATX specifications and so I wouldn't think that a manufacturer would produce something that was going to cause location problems. I have seen the Asus Xonar fitted in PCIEx1 slots at the top of other boards.

Maybe someone with this exact combination of components can tell you for certain. Good luck. ;)
