Title: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 -problem with unlocking cores on Phenom X2 545 CPU
Post by: mstaglicic on October 05, 2011, 06:59:40 pm
Hello!

I bought this motherboard (Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 rev. 1.0) before 15 days and I have a problem.
Before this motherboard,I had Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H rev. 1.0 with AMD Phenom II X2 545 CPU processor.
On that motherboard I can unlock 2 hidden cores without any problem -just enabled ACC and save BIOS settings.
On new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 rev. 1.0) I cant unlock AMD Phenom II X2 545,not even one core (to be triple-core).
I have update BIOS to F8 version and still cant unlock.
I enable ACC and save BIOS settings, and PC got freezed after 1-2 minutes in Windows.

Could you answer me why I got this problem?

Thanks for answering.

Hi

It's possible that because this motherboard is designed for the Bulldozer chips really even though it is backwards compatible that it has more emphasis put on other areas.

I put CPU on 1.50 v but it crashed after an  15 minutes in Windows.
On motherboard Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H i could normally unlock and OC CPU .
