Hi.
Mobo
GA MA770T UD3
CPU
Phenom 2 quad 955 BE
Everything has been working extremely well and I am very pleased with this box however!!
I like to use the easy energy saver as this keeps it all running very cool and saves me money but the easy energy saver
does not switch off properly, this is evident by simply checking cpu speed.
The Gigabyte download page says I need to update the bios and also update easytune 6 if I want to use the updated
version of easy energy saver.
I updated the bios but when I try to update easytune6 it fails with an error as shown in the picture below. The file that
it refers to does not exist (as far as I can see) in the update or my previous instalation or even on the original mobo cd.
Any idea's ?

remove the old version of easy tune. Then download other to desktop and run as admin if on windows 7 if on windows xp sp3 just run it from desktop. Make sure to remove any earlier versions first and please make sure to download to desktop then run it see if that helps.

Hi autotech, thanks for your reply.
I'm on xp sp3 32bit
Deleting the old instaltion does not work. I've tried from its own delete option and also from windows add/remove programs. When trying either of these options I briefly see a small progress bar appear but it dissapears in an instant.
In desperation I deleted the folder manualy but I suspect there are dll's still hooked up in the windows folder because the new files will not install.
I have two instalations of xp so I booted to the other and had already tried your suggestion of downloading the files and running from the desktop.
The easy saver does uninstall but its the easy tune 6 that will not. The official download site says I MUST update easytune if I want to use the new energy saver.
Ive managed to install the new energy saver with the old easytune but there are problems. The energy saver does not turn off and it crashes if i try to close it down.
I'm now stuck with two windows installations that are running at 800mgz :(
Its a shame because the energy saver was previously knocking power consumption down to just 15 watts and cpu was running at 33'c when idling. I only went for the updates because energysaver didnt always switch off. I occasionaly do movie editing and so need the cpu to run at 3200 when asked to do so.
Do you know if gigabyte have a tool that can strip out the remnants of these programs?
if not I'll have to reinstall (sigh) windows.

You could try Revo Uninstaller, it clears most things and is very thorough.

myself i turned of all bios oriented engery saver functions and run mine a bit above stock. I did notice when i first used my 1090t it would throttle down to 800 mghtz all the time but i dint like it or trust it so i disabled all energy saver options in bios and just let it run at the 3.8 i have it set at.

I would have to say that would be my way of dealing with it too. I don't like all these bundled programs and prefer to have control over the system myself.
