Title: GV-R687OC-1GD Radeon Graphics Card
Post by: lowrider on October 08, 2011, 08:23:05 pm
Does the subject card only come with one 6 pin power cable?  I just got the card this morning and there was only one cable in the box.  There was also one crossfire link and one DVI to VGA adapter and of course the manual.  The card requires two power cables to run, so I'm a bit confused.  I don't really need them because I'm running this on a Mac Pro and I use specific Mac power cables.  But, the one power cable is confusing.

Usually with every card you get only one power cable (molex to 6-pin) and that's just as the fail safe if your PSU doesn't have two 6-pin cables (actually one 6 pin and one 6+2 pin cable on almost every "good" PSU), so there is nothing to worry about. I'm not sure  how all of this works on Mac as I never tried it...

Hi

Depending on manufacturer the cards normally come bundled with either one or two splitter cables so you can use the standard 4 pin Molex connectors on the power supply if you have an older version that doesn't have the specific 6 and 8 pin outlets that are required.

I haven't a clue about Macs so I couldn't help there anyway.
