Title: GA-880GA-UD3H AM3+
Post by: heflys20 on October 11, 2011, 07:34:51 pm
It's been some time now, but, with BD coming out tomorrow (supposedly), why hasn't this board received a BIOS update?  I have the rev. 3.1 model and it  "claims" to be AM3+ ready.

However, I don't see the BD processors in its CPU support list, nor is there a new BIOS available. What's going on?

Thanks.

Hi,

Have you tried contacting technical support and asking them the same question? As you quite rightly point out it is AM3+ ready and the 990FXA-UD3 rev 1.2 is the same, it's probably a matter of time before they do. If you do contact them please post back, if you like, with the response as others are likely to be thinking the same.

I hope this helps.

Its really simple why it isnt on the list yet, It hasnt been released and so gigabyte hasnt been able to do full testing to certify it. Im sure once it is released to the general public and update will be aviable shortly. Of all MB manufactures gigabyte is the fastest at releasing bios updates.

The 890fx and 890gx boards both have FX processors listed in their support lists, plus they received  bios updates in  September and August (respectively).

Give it time getting in a hurry isnt good i know been there done that. I have been waiting for bulldozier for awhile now not even sure at this point if it will be worth upgrading as software hasnt even caught up to my 6 core i hardly ever use more than 10 to 15% of it even when playing bfbc2 or lfd2.

Well, I kinda don't care anymore now, since I read the reviews. Shoulda went the Intel route when my board burned out......But nooooo, I decided to use common sense and wait. Lotta good that did. :-\

Ain't that always the way! It doesn't matter what you decide to do, it will be wrong and you will wish you did the opposite! ::)

I seriously doubt that that particular logic applies in this case. It's unlikely that Gigabyte will release a BIOS for this board (which means I was suckered), plus the processor in question is mostly a disappointment.

No, I think I would've been satisfied if I went with the Intel setup.
