Does anyone here have experience using a scsi boot drive with W7 64 and this board? I currently have a 29140UW which only has 32 bit drivers and a 39320 which is PCI-X and doesn't fit the board. Any recommendations for an adapter that will work with the X58A-UD5 and has drivers for W7 64? I'm limited to PCI and PCIE-X- I'm looking at the 29160N which I think will fit the board, but I'm not sure. Thanks...

Hi and welcome.
I am not running it at the moment but I have a Adaptec 19160 SCSI card and there are Win7 64 bit drivers for that if it's any help. As I said it isn't installed at the moment though so I can't say if there is any problems with it. As far as I understand it though Adaptec is very good with keeping it's drivers updated.

I bought an Adaptec 29160N on Ebay which is described as a 32 bit PCI card with a transfer rate up to 160mb per second with drivers for W7 64 bit, so it should work with the UD5. I've used SCSI drives as my boot drive since they are incredibly reliable, great performers and I like the ability to perform a low level format from the SCSI utility. Thanks for the reply.

I can't see any problems with that card. I haven't used mine since I built my system using a SSD for booting.
