Title: Changing SATA driver from Marvel to Intel on GA-Z68XP-UD3P

I've bought a Corsair SSD drive but I need to change the SATA driver from Marvell to Intel in order to update the drive firmware.

Anyone know how I can do this?

Hi and welcome.

I am not quite with you here but from what you have written I would suggest moving the SSD over to one of the Intel ports instead of the Marvell where it is now presumably. Is it that you have to run it in IDE mode ?

    DM is correct ........... the Intel controller is a known for stability and as far as I know IDE is a must for flashing any and all SSDs.....hit the Manufactures forum for flashing procedure and applicable soft/flash ware ........... backup/clone all your data......no one guarantee's the integrity of your data during flashing procedures

  There is usually a flash loader you can download and use .....quite often it will be Linux based boot loader with the flash utility pre-installed.....

  Depending on your board, it might be worth leaving it on the Intel controller re performance ..... suggest benching both controller once up and running again in ACHI......remember to have ACHI enabled before and during OS install for a streamlined experience ;)

  Sigh!......it was noted ....and appreciated Flatline  ...... been working with OCZ drives for too long...... and taken an absolute kick-en this weekend........ but it is good to see manufactures finally taking ACHI serious over an ageing standard which is IDE.....no offence taken ;)
