Title: Quad Core 95550 is running at 2.00ghz with GA G31M ES2L Rev 1.1
Post by: Chipset_man on October 22, 2011, 02:48:06 pm
Hi mates, I hope you can help me solving this problem that I have since 1 year...  :o The Cpu-z indicates me that the processor is running always at 2 ghz, while it should be 2.83 ghz... this allways happens when the pc is calm, don´t doing nothing and when it's streesing, like playing games, that I can see that there are some freezes, or lags, mi motherboard is the one in the topic title, with the Bios version F-10 (the newest) ... I tried to put the Cpu multiplier from x6 to x8, and the x.05 multiplier, all Ok, I save changes, the system reboots, but the configuartion go back the x6 multiplier... I have disabled the C1E and the EIST... what I should do now ¿? Thanks for all :)

Hi and welcome.

I would suggest clearing your CMOS and then loading Optimised BIOS Defaults before making any changes that you want to the setup. If you need some directions follow these:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.
