Title: GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 endless restarting loop
Post by: Andy_GLA on October 23, 2011, 01:00:36 pm
hello all,

i'm new to this forum with an unfortunate problem with me newly bought pc from DINOPC.com

- system worked for about a day, faulty graphics card caused the display to crash constantly, so returned the GPU to dinopc and they send me a replacement,
Now after fitting the new GPU I try to power on the pc.... on the motherboard I get one Beep, all LED's on, green green orange, red. fans go on for about 2 seconds and then endless repeating restarting cycle with NO detection of display, no picture at all.
At this point i'm considering sending the whole thing back for a refund BUT I want to know if this is something that can be fixed first before I get to that stage. So if anyone has any thoughts or help it would be hugely appreciated.

here's the system specs:

CPU:   Intel Core i7 2600K
CPU Cooler:  Corsair H60 Water Cooler
Operating System:  Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68X-UD5-B3
Memory:  8.0GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x 4GB)
Hard Drives: 2TB S-ATAIII 6.0Gb/s
Optical Drive:  22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: Gainward NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1,536MB
Sound card:  Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case:  Corsair Graphite 600T
PSU:  850W Corsair TX

connected via HDMI to an LG 32" tv monitor

hope someone can figure out this problem!

Hi Andy,

To save yourself a lot of time and hassle if the PC is under warranty then I would return it if I wasn't confident in fixing the problem myself. The reason being it will save you time and angst.

Not only that but they could turn round and invalidate your warranty because you have been "playing". You have to be careful not to put yourself in an awkward position.

If you decide to try and fix it yourself the first thing I would suggest is to uninstall your present graphics drivers and revert to the 275.xx  I think was the stable ones. Apparently there was a few problems with the latest ones.

how would I even do this though if I cant even get anything on my screen and  with the pc restarting on me?

Personally I would think that you are better off replacing or getting a refund on your sytem as it is only a day old and never really worked properly from the start. If you hang on to it and even get it going I wouldn't feel happy about it. Better to start off right.

I am sure we could get the machine running but how long that would take and how many bits you might have to replace is anyones guess at the moment.

okay. cheers for the input, I definitely would be more comfortable returning it than spending hours over fiddling around, I was just curious to find out if this would have been a quick fix.

thanks

I think that is the best idea. However if you need any help in the future please just ask. ;)

Good decision Andy, you shouldn't have to fix it. Have you built PC's before?
