Hi all,
Still mega pleased with my X58A-UD3R (and i7 950). But new higher RAM capacities are getting me tempted into a memory upgrade for future video work.
In the Gigabyte specifications it lists max memory as 24GB, but that was in the days before 8GB modules existed. Is there any chance of 8GB DIMMS being supported on this motherboard, and if so, which BIOS revision would I likely need?
Many thanks,
kalniel

TheX58 chipset will only support a max of 24GB of memory.....(what I have installed and use).....with the price of 8 GB dimms.....why would you bother! until X79 come out!

I would have to agree there. The price of 8GB sticks makes it an unlikely update at the moment and by the time they come down in price enough to be viable you will want to upgrade the motherboard and CPU I expect.
