Title: GA-MA785GMT-UD2H and EasyTune6 Hardware Monitor
Post by: HairyScot on October 30, 2011, 08:46:35 pm
I have a GA-MA785GMT-UD2H and I recently decided to try out  EasyTune6, mainly to monitor temperature etc.
In the ET6 hardware monitor I noticed that the System Fan does not seem to register, speed always shows zero although the fan is running.
However the CPU fan seems to be OK.
Would welcome any advice.

Hi there,

a silly question but do you have a fan attached to the System Fan Header on the motherboard? If you do, is it a 3 or 4 pin fan?
To be able to see the fan in EasyTune it needs to be a 4 pin connector if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the tip.
There is a connector to the MB.
Will check out the pins a little later.
Have also discovered that the System Fan does not show up in the Health section of the BIOS display.
Will post feedback when I have checked out the pins etc.

Just in case it help a little later the SYSFAN_2 is designed to only run at half speed so if you notice this don't think there is a fault. ;)

Mystery solved.
The system fan came with the case and is connected to the cluster of cables from the power supply.
Does not use the 4 pin SYSFAN connector on the board.
My techies at local PC shop tell me that fans with that type of connector are hard to find.

Thanks for all the input.   :)

For your information your "techies" at the local shop are talking bulls***! Four pin fans are certainly not hard to find at all. ;)

Yes, I know that. I think they had run out of stock.  ::)

Thanks again for your help.
