Hi Guys,
I have the Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 motherboard and need to upgrade my graphics card to play battlefield 3. I am looking at the Radeon HD 6970 but was not sure if this card should run on my motherboard? I currently have two Radeon HD 4850 in crossfire.
I see that the 6970 mentions PCI-E 2.1 but my mobo only has PCI-E 2.0. Reading a little about this it seems that this shouldnt be a problem?
I can provide more system details if required (currently at work or I would supply them anyway) if they are needed. I intend to build a new system at some point, so I am willing to pay for this card with the intention of using it in the new build at a later date.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks
Martyn

Hi
It should run fine on your motherboard because these specs are all backwards compatible so at worst you wouldn't have the full features that would be available otherwise.
Have fun with your upgrade and new game.
