Cannot seem to find out from Gigabyte site which of their ATX Dual-BIOS motherboards are compatible with Phenom II x6 1075T CPU. Currently using public computer (limited to hour a day,) so don't have time to go through site bit by bit. Anyone know of a short list of models that are suitable?

Check here: http://uk.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support.aspx and choose the CPU in the drop down menu.
N/A in the list means the CPU isn't supported which is not very helpful but it shoold help shorten your search.

Just print out the list that absic has pointed you to and you cna take your time to peruse it then.

If you could give a few ideas of what you're after from the motherboard and your finished system we might be able to help shorten the list for you.

Well, right now the biggest problem is trying to figure out whether or not I can include Windows 2000 Professional (aka 'workstation) in the build. Trying to design PC with three dedicated HDDs (one for XP Pro, one for Windows 2000, and other for trial of various Linux distros). I finally found hardware requirements for Linux, and XP Pro was easy, but Windows 2000 is a nerve-grind! Would like to limit motherboards to them with 'DualBIOS', but finding out which specific ones will work with Windows 2000 is the main problem now, and need to know this to decide whether or not I have to drop it from my build (i.e. if it requires such archaic hardware as to severely impact the other two OS). This is what caused me to drop Windows 98, Haiku, and others. Don't know if you can help with this or not.

Windows 2000 ah that seems like a long lost friend and I still have a copy of that floating around...... somewhere!
A quick check of a couple of the motherboards has shown that they do support Windows 2000 even my GA-990FXA-UD5 shows this but with the caveat that some drivers may not be available, which is a bit of a contradiction.
It could well be a case of "suck it and see" I'm afraid as Windows 2000, along with other operating systems is slowly falling by the wayside. :'(

Personally I would hold onto them. If nothing else they could make useful drinks coasters! :D

And from what I have heard about the next Windows iteration it will be goling back to be more like Windows 3.11 with groupings of similar programs and utilities.

I'm not too concerned whether or not Windows 2000 Pro can access all the 'bells'n'whistles' of XP Pro, Vista, etc., only that It will proper install on my hardware and run basic stuff...do internet, print out to Inkjet & Laser printer, etc. So do you think Phenom II x6 1075T is possible CPU?
