Title: GA-X58A-UDR3R rev 2.0 Bios FG, Ahci swich to Raid BSOD
Post by: bch123 on November 08, 2011, 07:21:03 pm
Hi All

From what I can read in forum, Raid should be the same as AHCI, exept for the possibility to add more disk drives and run raid.

I have boot disk on intel port 0, cd rom on marvel controller, and 2 x 1 tb seagate on intel port3 and 4.

and just want to run Partition copy from boot disk to raid disk.

But when I change Bios fra AHCI to RAID, no boot, only blue screen and reboot.

I cant figure out what is wrong

Help wanted

regards Bjarne

Hi

From what you say your problem is that you are changing the BIOS mode. Set the Intel ICH10R controller to RAID and configure your RAID array as you boot up. Then install Windows and everything should work as it is. Don't change  the controller mode again.

Hi, my intensions was to be able to copy  from boot disk to Raid1 disk, without have to install W7 and all programs again.

so I just swicth MB to raid and belived I could have access to booth boot disk and raid disks, at the same time.

You can when it is set to RAID mode.
