Hi i have an issue with the p55m-ud4
When I go to install 7 I get told that no drives can be found, and when I try to give it the driver from the mobo cd i either get told that the driver is not compatible with the the hardware or that the installation of the driver failed!
I've tried all kinds of different configurations in BIOS with native mode on and off, s.m.a.r.t. enabled and disabled, IDE and AHCI modes using both the P55 controller and the gigabyte one and I can't get anywhere.
I'm running with a single 1TB spinpoint connected to the SATA2_0
and a bluray drive connected to SATA2_4
Does anyone have any ideas? ???
Thanks
Dan

Hi,
Have you initialised the drive, formatted it ?
-
Yeah, first of all I thought it could be a duff drive so I put it in my vista machine and initialised and formatted it.
It's a really strange problem ???

I am running Win 7 Pro 64bit and am using AHCI for my sata hdds. It was a bit fiddly to get working. Before setting the bios to AHCI i had to make a reg fix otherwise i got BSOD. Then set it in bios and then let windows find you a driver.
The driver shows up as:
Intel(R) PCH SATA AHCI Controller
Driver Date 4/06/2009
Driver Version 8.9.0.1023

I took a 500GB out of my vista machine, moved all the data to the 1TB drive and am now using the 500GB drive in my new rig and it seems to be working perfectly >:( sorry to waste your time guys.
It seems the spinpoint has issues with this board but works perfectly just as a storage drive in Vista.
Cheers
