Hi gigabytes :)
Problem occured.
My pc : amd phenom x4 955be
motherboard gigabyte ga990xa ud3
xfx core edition 450w
maxtor 160 gb hdd sata
2x corsair venegance 1600mhz
windows 7 64bit ultimate
Ok.The problem is that after the post screen i see that annoying black screen and it says "Loading operating system". It stays like that for 5-6 seconds and then loads the windows. My pc has restart time about 4 minutes. I thought thats because of hdd,so i tested new one,and it is still like that, tried different versions of windows, problem remains. Its not so annoying that restart time, its that loading operating system.
I tried to flash bios to a newer version with @bios,and flashed it to F9,but no progress. Then i flashed the bios with qflash,i thougt that that may help.My motherboard came with F5 bios. After the flashing with f9,i tried with bios F6,and F8,nothing. I changed my PSU,everything stays the same.I found on google that some users had similar problems,so i tried to change boot priority, disabled other boot devices in bios, only enable hdd, thats the curent state.
Does anyone have something i didnt tried yet ? How to get rid of "Loading operating system" ?
Thanks for any help.

That XFX 450 watt PSU isnt to great for what you have. Id get a bigger PSU possiably a single rail with 40 amps or more on the 12v rail.
-
I changed PSU,that is not the problem.I putted corsair vx series 550W,and it does nothing. Its not the PSU,all parts are working,i tested in different pcs.

Hi there,

The short answer is no, you can't remove this part of the BOOT process.
It does seem a bit pointless and I have always commented on the amount of time it takes AMD systems to go through the POST/BOOT phase when starting up.

Hi scarfacevk,
If the problem, is in Windows ....
Have you make a visit on Administrative Tools, Services (of Windows)
Maybe you have possibility to stop service if not necessary.
Have use a soft for clean a Registry Base, defrag a Hard Disk?

Hi Gloup_Gloup,
this problem is not really a problem. There are no settings in Windows or any OS, that I am aware of to stop this showing.
I am not sure if this is due to the BIOS or to the AMD Chipsets but it has been happening on the 8 series as well as the 9 series boards and, unlike the Intel boards, there is no quick BOOT Option.

Hi absic, ;)
Okay, I remember a ''Error Loading Operating System'' in Win XP, same on 7 exist...
So now is Loading Operating System... is not same... pfiew... :P
But I persisted in my suggestion for accelarate a processus of starting Windows...
So i suggest add :
unplug front USB drives from the header or anyting mobile drive like CF card, External USB Hard Disk...if the OS is not in this devices.
Remove Floppy Disk and Floppy Disk Drive... etc.

Did you set windows up via UEFI? Do you have your sata set to IDE or AHCI? Try that and see if it helps
-
Uefi is bio right ? :(
And i tried set to ahci, and then bios dont recognize hdd.Or im not doing something right. Help !
-
Hi scarfacevk, ;)
If before the hard disk operate with IDE mode, initialy when you install Windows...
and after you modify it, by changed mode in Bios, like a AHCI...
is normal then computer system not recognize HDD...
So remember how you set HDD in Bios, and modify parameters in Bios.

I cant boot into windows even. Im saying that bios is not showing any hard disk. How to do ahci mode ?
-
Hi again,
Read this : How can I switch to AHCI Mode after installing Windows in IDE Mode?

EDIT01:
Check your HDD priority in BIOS.

I didnt had to modify key, because i allready had 0 set.
Hdd boot priority,check.
-
Ive noticed that on some 990xa boards in bios, have one menu that i dont have "advanced bios features" menu. Could I somehow have that menu ? Maybe there is some option that could help me ?
-
Sometimes features come and go depending on the version of BIOS that you happen to have loaded at the time. If you are missing a particular entry or section even try updating to the newer version and hopefully it will be reinstated there.
-
Feature dindnt came and go.I never had it. I allready have newest bios F9.
-
i was thinking somthing simple like changing the boot order in the bios or make sure it dont try to read from dvd or usb as boot and get stuck. Or a usb phone(memcard).
Or using the sata ports starting from 0 and not skip any. (yes i know sata dont have master- slave)
-
Hi Friends, ;)
To see more advanced BIOS Setup menu options, you can press CTRL + F1 in the Main Menu of the BIOS Setup program.

No thanx button ! THANKS !
But problem persist.
-
I've recently putted F10g bios. Thats the last one i tried. So now,i tried every bios on my motherboard, and "Loading operating system" still persist.
I cant belive, that Gigabyte didnt put any effort to solve this problem, because lots of people have the same issue.

Hi!
I have F12 BIOS and I have this same annoying issue! Please fix this Gigabyte! I have SSD drive and this boot part is the most time consuming:
press power button -> loading operatin system... like 10-15 seconds!
loading operating system -> win7 logon like 8 seconds
my friend has motherboard with amd 990fx chipset (other manufacturer) and he hasn't this problem!
regards!
