Title: New GV-N570OC-13I Rev. 2.0 makes PC crash after 1sec of gaming
Post by: haze on November 26, 2011, 05:10:23 pm
HI there,
so yesterday I got my new Graphic Card, a Gigabyte GTX570 OC Windforce x3. Before pluggin it in I removed the old Drivers for my GTX260 and then I plugged the card in. After booting the PC, I immediatly Installed the newest Drivers from the Nvidia Page (version 285,62) and rebooted my PC. The first thing I recognized was that the Fans turned onto 70% speed and never got any slower. But when I tried to run a game like BF3 or SC2, It runs about 2or3 sec. and then the whole system shuts down immediatly. I don't now what to do now. I checked the Temps, they were below 50°C, and the whole system worked fine with my old gtx260. I can't understand that, pplease help me

Here is my system spec:

MOBO:   GA-Z68X-UD4-B3
CPU:      INtel core I5-2500k
RAM:      A Data XPG-G Series
PSU:        Enermax Liberty 620W

maybe try uninstalling the video card drivers, run ccleaner, delete all 'nvidia' folders from c:, restart pc, rerun ccleaner (both times do registry/temp files)
also, check that the 2 pci-ex power plugs are not the same cable...
also list all your other components, you might be a little low on power if all the above doesn't work?
perhaps also pull the cmos battery on your motherboard, I've seen this a few times in my IT work....
also download msi afterburner and try setting the clock speeds to the factory default for a 570 (if after all the above and reinstalling drivers don't work)
also be sure when installing the nvidia drivers, choose 'custom installation' and check the checkbox that says 'clean installation'. this will remove the drivers completely that appear for the device in the device manager.

Hi

It sounds like a power problem to me. So make sure that both the power cables are firmly attached to the grapics card and as Kungpaoshizi mentioned that they come from different 12v rails on the PSU. Also check the 12v power cable to the motherboard near the CPU. How old is the PSU anyway ?
