Title: pick your msata for Z68 series

Hi,

I have come across the msata connector on gigabyte Z68 series.

There is a list of msata SSDs that gigabyte will definitly support

download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/ssd/isrt-ssd-support.pdf

As far as I understand, the SSD will just be the cache of your main drives, so it should take all msata SSDs whether it is in the list or not.

I haven't bought my motherboard yet. Could anyone please tell me if it is really picky or not

Thanks RW

Ho and welcome.

I would tend to agree with you although I have no more knowledge on this particular motherboard's acceptance of drives.  I don't see why any particular drive should work better than any other but I don't think you would gain a lot by having a larger one over one of say 20 -30 GB as it is just a cache as you mentioned.
