I turned my Z68 board into a FreeNAS server and my system fan header isn't working. I use an 80mm fan to cool my hard drives (2 x 2TB). One is a WD Black drive and runs very hot. over 50C idle. So I put the fan on the MB SYS_FAN header and it doesn't turn on. I go into BIOS and find no settings for the SYS fan except a warning. I enable the warning in hopes of more menu options, but no luck. I reboot and it beeps like mad, so I go back into BIOS and disable the warning.
I found a 3-pin fan header to a molex connector adapter and the fan works fine. I'd like to get rid of the adapter if anyone know how to get the SYS_FAN header to work.
I have BIOS F9 installed
Thanks in advance

Hi
If you have it enabled in the BIOS by disabling Smart Fan Control it should be working at it's full speed. I can tell you however that the SYSFAN_2 header only works at half the power/speed of the other headers so whether that has any effect onyour fans functioning I don't know.
