Title: 970a-ud3 strange memory timings

Hi,

I got this weird issue with my memory timings.
Im using Adata XPG Gaming 1600Mhz 8gb kit (2x4gb) and set up timing and voltages according to manufacture specs. 9-9-9-24 and 1.65v
But now when im checking in CPUZ it shows this:

Could this be just a faulty read-out by CPUZ or is there something else i should look at?

system specs:
GA970A-UD3
AMD FX-8120
Adata XPG Gaming 1600Mhz 8gb kit (2x4gb)
I'm know this memory is not on the QVL but this never has been a issue in systems i built in the past so i dont expect this to be the problem.

Hi there,

What BIOS version are you running?

Similar issues with wrong spec's being reported have been resolved by updating to the latest version. For your motherboard it is F5b. If you are running an earlier BIOS then try updating to this one which you can download from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3907&dl=1#

I would recommend that you use QFlash for updating the BIOS and that you disable the "Keep DMI Data" option on the QFlash homescreen before you actually run the update.

You will need to reset your Memory speed and timings after you have updated the BIOS along with any other changes that you have made.

Thnx for the tip but already flashed to f5b before.

I've been checking again but this time with Aida64.

Seems it shows the right timings here so i guess CPUZ is wrong here.

I've got to say that I'm not surprised. I remember the issues when the Phenom ii's first came along and also some of the Intel processors and it did take quite a few months before the software caught up with the technology.

Thanks for the feedback though as I am sure it will help others who encounter similar issues until things settle back down in this area.
