Title: GTX 560TI OC (GV-N560OC-1GI) Buzzing Noise
Post by: Rabwick on January 20, 2012, 11:46:16 am
Hi,
I recently purchased this gpu (yesterday,) and so far there is no problems in terms of gaming. The problem i am experiencing is this strange noise which has only occurred once upon startup, but will always occur if i run any gpu load programs, like msi kombustor. The sound will continually occur until i close the program. If i run Furmark, the computer immediately reboots. I havent done any overclocking as of yet. From what ive heard this is known as coil whine?

The card seems to be working fine in most aspects, was just wondering if this noise is normal or should i return it tomorow?
i was also wondering if the pc rebooting after running furmark could cause any damage to the card, and if running kombustor could have done damage.

specs:
i5 2400 @ 3.1ghz
8gb ripjaws ddr3 1600mhz
750 watt widetech power
1.5tb caviar black hdd
gigabyte z68x-ud3-b3

This noise only seems to occur when i run msi kombustor or specifally a 'burn in gpu test.'

Hi

I listened to it several times and even when the volume was turned right up I couldn't hear anything unusual. :-\

Hi Rabwick.

I know they make a slight noise when on full load (fan whine).

Another possibility is a faulty card.

Ben.
