my board is gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud5, upgraded my 1333 ram to 1600 but having problems installing windows and battlefield. on windows installing during the Expanding of files i got this error 0xc000005 and installation cannot be completed. and on battlefield 3 around 26% it goes back to 18% and says that i have a bad disk. But when i revert back to my old 1333 RAM all installation finished without any problems.
Prior to reinstalling windows with RAM 1600 i have frequent BSOD. ie. memory_management error. i tried to run memory diagnostic error 1st try says that I have error on my 1600 RAM. 2nd try, moving the rams to other slots i got no error and passing 5 tests.
question.
1. do i have a bad 1600 RAM?
2. do i need to change the settings in bios for my RAM 1600? if so, how?
my board is gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud5 - bios ver F6 10/31/2011 - SMBIOS Version 2.4
my processor is athlon ii x640, and i don't overclock.
psu 625watts
vcard radeon 6870
RAM 1600 Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2x4gb) CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B - 9-9-9-24 1.50v VER5.12
Hope someone can give me advise on this..

Hi there,
The problem probably isn't with your RAM but with your CPU and its built in Memory Controller. Check your CPU Specifications here: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/processors/athlon-ii-x2/Pages/AMD-athlon-ii-x2-processor-model-numbers-feature-comparison.aspx as teh Athlon X4 processor doesn't like RAM above 1333MHz

No problem and an aspect of PC building that gets missed by lots of people, my self included, when I first started out.

We have fairly similar systems... Can you provide more information about your memory modules ?
