Hi, new here, so hoping one of you guys can help?
I have a X58A-UD3R mother board, mounted in an Antec 900-2 case.
Everything is fine, apart from the 2nd front USB on the case does not work.
Ive tried swapping the connector around on the motherboard, but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Cheers in advance!!

Hi
I would think that the most likely scenario is that the actual port is faulty. If one is working and the other isn't it would suggest that there is a hardware fault on the wiring or port itself.

Ditto :) .... there's the second Doctors opinion.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
Ok, i shall try some trouble shooting, and see where that gets me!!

Case port 1 works, correct?
Case port 2 does not.
Does the problem move to port 1 or stay with port 2 when you swap those connectors?

Normally both front ports would be connected to a single motherboard header connector. It is only when the case has four or more ports on the front that two connectors might be used.

Ok, a quick swap round reveals that the problem stays with port 2.

OK, compare the front panel connector wires to each other; are they the same pinout?
If so, ensure the USB connector is clean.
If nothing wrong there, you probably have a broken wire; test with a multimeter.

Hi and welcome.
Can you please just list your hardware and explain exactly what the problem is as you see it.
