Title: Sound issues with GA-X58A-UD3R
Post by: donsls on February 12, 2012, 04:06:08 pm
I recently bought a brand new Gigabyte motherboard GA-X58A-UD3R. I was able to install windows 7 enterprise edition without any issues. I have a core i7 920 processor with 12GB of RAM. Now when I connect my speakers to the back slots, system automaticlly identifies them, but when I play music or any sound nothing comes out of the speakers. However when I connect my speakers to the front headphone slot in the case sound works without any issues. Could any one help me in fixing this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

It would sound like you have the settings wrong in Control Panel. I would suggest checking the various options in the Realtek Audio Manager and Sound sections. Also make sure that you have nothing plugged into the front ports as that will often disable any sound from the rear ports.

There is an option in said Control Panel applet that enables this; ensure its disabled in case its wonky.

Be sure you are using the latest Realtek drivers, you can get them here
http://218.210.127.131/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

And then, be sure you have your speakers set as default like this, in control panel / sound

And of course be sure you also install the latest Intel INF Chipset drivers, first link
