I was having the Steam games not playing issue... The Steam forums directed me to the Gigabyte site suggesting the F6 bios update the page linked to the 990fxa-UD7 bios page. I then went to UD3 page downloaded the file, flashed the bios and Steam now works but i am only showing 4 cores in both the device manager and in the task manager. All 8 cores showed under bios F5...
Any help would be amazing...

Try this type msconfig into run when it opens got to boot tab and then advanced options at the top left is a box check it and pick your cores. Now if that doesnt work or it is already checked uncheck it and restart. Report back what happens please there is a last resort but lets do this first. Make sure you restart after changing it.

I went in to msconfig and the box was unchecked and when i checked it it only allowed me to select 4 cores...
I then restarted it and tried again to no success...

Well for the last resort then reformat windows a clean install should fix it. I hate being the bearer of bad news but thats the way it goes.
