Title: MA785GMT-UD2H processor upgrade in HTPC
Post by: RobTi on March 06, 2012, 09:36:05 pm
Hi all i have the above motherboard with a AMD Athlon II X2 250 in a HTPC, question is should i put a better second hand cpu in it or sell the board and start again.

It would be used for HTPC duties but i feel that the 250 is under powered and was wondering what you think

Thanks

Robert

Most software only uses 2 core cpus at this time anyway so unless you feel you want more power you could go with any of the following supported processors.

Personally i saw a great performance leap when i upgraded to a 4 core cpu. Mine was a 3.4 black edition though and when i went to the 1090T black i was finally satisfied and have not upgraded since.
