I just completed my first build, AMD FX-8120, GA 970a-ud3, corsair vengence 1866 8g ram, corsair 500w PSU, but my ram is showing as 1333 and not 1866. I have tried to tweak the voltage and set the ram to 1866 to no avail. When I do try and change it most the time the system crashes and I am stuck with a black screen for a couple minutes and have to let it rest. Its not that 1333 is bad, but I would like to get the full experience out of it how am I able to work with this ram to make it run as 1866.

Hi there,
sorry but I can't remember exactly what you need to change in BIOS to get your RAM running at rated speed but I know it has been posted on the forum so doing a search on the forum should provide the answer.
There is also a new BIOS F5g available and ex58 posted a link for it in this thread: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,8446.0.html it might be worthwhile updating to this version to see if it helps, although you will still have to manually set the speed for your RAM.

Hello, I have too made my first build useing the same board and memory ie. corsair vengence 1866. Have been reading other posts and forums, and not sure how to get it bumped up to run at 1866 speed. Any one out there that can shine some light on this, would make my week. Thanks for any advice..

They should run @1866Mhz when You set it manually to x9.33 and the timings to 9-10-9-27
Mine work that way without any problems. If You need some more specific help I can post a screenshot of my BIOS settings :)
