Title: GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 - long boot time

I was initially with a TOTAL boot time = 1m30sec:

I made some changes and reduce the time to 45sec:
1) PCH SATA Control Mode / IDE to AHCI
2) http://i.imgur.com/k1sXF.jpg

But I think that time still very high due to the 30 seconds spent on BIOS routines (to call the operating system)
I would appreciate any help in order to reduce this time.

What other software is started at boot time along with Windows ?

Hardware wise the Creative soundcard can be a bit of a monster with all it's associated software.

Try downloading and running Bootracer. It is a free utility that can give you accurate times for booting etc.

Are you a new user to Gigabyte boards?   I ask because often if you are not the boot time may seem longer if you are coming from another brand.   If you did use Gigabyte before, what motherboard was your previous Gigabyte board?

What ALL USB devices do you have connected, be sure to mention ALL of them.

Yes, this is my 1st Gigabyte. All are so slow?
In the USB ports are connected only keyboard and mouse. Everything else (printers, wheel, etc.) are in a hub that is off by a switch.

You are not running a RAID setup or something like that are you ?

I experienced a similar thing recently when my inital boot time was 14 seconds according to "Bootracer" with a clean Windows instal but after applying all the patches etc it has gone up to 1 minute and 30 seconds. That is with no peripherals attached apart from keyboard and mouse.  :-\

Yes, Gigabyte boards are slower at booting that some other motherboards, that's why I asked you to make a new video of your current bootup, so I could see if it looks normal or not.

Please disconnect ALL USB devices, except your keyboard and mouse.  So unplug your USB Hub, we do not trust the on/off swtich for this test, that way you can tell if it's the USB hub causing boot to be slower than normal.
