Worked fine this morning and never had a problem till now, had the card for about 11months and turned it on again today to have no display at all cant even get as far as the bio's. I've tried complete power offs and changing the pci slot its in but its nothing helped.

my system setup if needed is:

Asus P8P67-M motherboard

Corsair 500W CX Series PSU
Gigabyte GTX 460 OC 1GB
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM

Any help would be appreciated :)

Hi and welcome.

#The first thing I woulkd suggest trying is a powers supply check. Either use the old short green and black wires trick with a fan or two for a load. If it works at least you know it isn't completely dead. Next I would say try clearing the CMOS but as it's a Asus board I can't help you there.

Did the green and black trick, fans and few things started up normally, however i plugged my graphics card in and the fans didnt even start this time. Im guessing that means the 6 pin connectors arent supplying any power to it?

I would say it's most likely that the power supply can't supply enough power to the system. If that is correct then you will need to buy a new PSU. Purchase a good make like Seasonic, CWT, Corsair, Thermaltake, Enermax, Gigabyte, Coolermaster, Antec, etc and try and get one with a single 12V rail if possible. I would advise you to get one of about 650W minimum depending on your hardware demands.

My GTX460 OC refuses to display on boot.

It was working perfectly on my previous AMD motherboard. I have just upgraded to a Gigabyte Z77 board and I can't get it to show anything, despite trying numerous BIOS settings. This GTX460 is a replacement card for the original card that I bought, which locked up under load. When this replacement card arrived, I tried it in another motherboard (I think it was a GA-M68MT-S2P), and it refused to output any display, despite booting into Windows OK (I could hear the "tune"). I suspected that I'd been sent another "dud", and it appears that I was correct, unless there is something I'm doing wrong (which I doubt). At least it has worked OK in my previous motherboard for a little over a year, but now the GTX460 is wasting my time again.

How I regret switching from AMD to NVIDIA graphics.

Hi,

when you had the problem that you can hear windows boot up but had no video output, did you use more then 1 monitor/tv and had 1 connected with HDMI cable? If so unplug the HDMI cable and replug it after boot up.
