Wonder if anyone can help?
A friend recently gave me a tower with a GA-945GCM-S2L MB, intel D processor 925, ATI radeon HD 3800.
When I recieved it there was no RAM so I bought 2 new 2GB ddr2 sticks and installed them.
I then went on to install a fresh copy of windows7 x64.
When I go into computer properties it says that it has 4GB (2GB usable), I have tried testing both slots with 1 stick of ram in each and it tells me the same thing only this time instead of 4GB it says 2GB (1GB usable).
It also recognises 4096 MB in CPU-Z?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi harkzeppelin, ;)
welcome to forum...

Enable use of a CoreTM 2 CPU with 1333 MHz FSB through overclocking. You must install the
FSB 1333 MHz CoreTM 2 CPU with DDR2 533 (or above) memory module(s).

(Note 2) Due to Windows Vista/XP 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical
memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than 4 GB.
(Note 3) Use of a 1066/800 MHz FSB CPU is required if you wish to install DDR2 667 MHz memory.

Due to chipset limitation, read the following guidelines before installing the memory in Dual Channel mode.
1. Dual Channel mode cannot be enabled if only one DDR2 memory module is installed.
2. When enabling Dual Channel mode with two memory modules, it is recommended that
memory of the same capacity, brand, speed, and chips be used.

Thanks for the fast reply and help,
I downloaded the manual u linked for me but i'm a bit of a newbie to computers so couldn't really work out alot lol.
I forgot to mention that the DDR2 I installed is 667Mhz, and I noticed there was a paragraph about the use of a 1066/800 MHz FSB CPU is required if you wish to install DDR2 667 MHz memory.
Was wondering if theres any settings I have to change in BIOS, or is the hardware iv'e got just not compatible?
Thanks again for your help.

Thank for your appreciation.
I suggest you install Windows Seven (ultimate if you have, by exemple) 32bit x32
Remove one stick of Ram before Install Windows.
After finish install (complete with session windows)
Turn off computer, put your other stick of Ram (Total 4gb)
Reboot.
make a performance test in System panel
