Title: I need some help finding specific a motherboard. And bonus memory question. :)
Post by: whenyournex2me on April 05, 2012, 07:35:10 am
Hey folks,

I have been looking into a computer build, and I happen to have some trouble finding the motherboard. I am looking for a  Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5P mobo. Where can I find one new with warranty? This one here:  http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-gaex58ud5p-x58-motherboard-review/1

And can someone confirm these memory modules will work on this mobo: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMP12GX3M3A1600C9

I plan on using this Intel i7 processor: Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

with this power supply: CORSAIR Professional Series HX850 (CMPSU-850HX) 850W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

IDK what video cards to go with yet. Id like to get a three monitor setup with one card, and be able to crossfire or sli. I am trying to get a three monitor setup. IDK if Nvidia or ATI is the better choice. some tips here would help too. Thanks for your time and effort. I promise to take pics of hte build and send them to the site :)

The problem being that your motherboard of preference isn't made anymore and hasn't been for some while. It has been superceded by newer ranges and so to find a brand new one for sale is going to be very difficult.

The Corsair Dominators that you asked about should work fine with this motherboard and are indeed the very same ones that I use in my GA-X58A-UD7 which is a slightly newer version of your board. Likewise with the Corsair HX850W PSU. I have this model too and it hasn't let me down once.

Hmm, I see what you mean. Yeah I really want this mobo, and will continue to look. I would consider buying one used as well. Anyone else have any tips or thoughts or links, that would be helpful! :) Thank you for your replies.
