Some months ago my pc blue screened me frequently I would re-boot it and sometimes it would run and boot up into windows no bsod other times it would mess up the bios making it look like some kind of alien language and wouldn't boot at all.
I thought at first it was my graphics cards because my drivers and resolution would mess up. I disconnected my crossfire and used my other card in the second slot moving it to the first pci-e slot with just one card it worked fine for a week then I get the same problem again so I thought both cards were faulty as when I removed them the bios was now fine and could boot.
I purchased a new gfx card and re-installed windows 7 again everything was fine for a week but now it looks like the same problem again. Do I have to replace my whole motherboard cpu and ram now to fully avoid this problem or is there an easier fix? Currently new mobos offer nothing more than slighly faster speeds, talking about seconds which are requirements we don't even need but it may be the only way?

Perhaps you could list your hardware or include it as a sig.
In general the symptoms point towards a power failure but I feel that it is more likely to do with the memory personally. I would advise running Memtest86+ in the following way to test all your modules. It does take a while but it is worth it in the end.
Please follow these instructions exactly.
I would suggest that you download and run the latest version of Memtest86+ to check your RAM first.
Memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/
Insert one stick of memory in slot 1 and run Memtest on it for at least 10 complete loops/cycles and if there are no errors then swap it over with the next one and continue untill you have checked all modules.
If you have any errors the module is faulty.
If you have any faulty modules you will have to return the whole kit as they are matched.
Post back when you have done that with the results.

No unfortunately it wasn't the ram and I did overnight extensive testing with windows memory diagnostics as well as what you said. I didn't think it was the memory modules because I have had ram fail on my laptops before and would only get a bue screen and a reset but this seems to scramble the bios or freeze at boot up it can even manage to turn of the power and then re-boot itself I don't think it's a power issue I've also tested on two psu's.
The guy who made my PC back in 2008 said he had issues with it too but fixed it. I had this exact same problem the first year I had this PC but it only happened once and never again till 4 years later. Whatever the problem is it's a real mystery to me ???

Even more strange ever since I tested the ram I haven't had any problems yet or so far but it didn't pick up any problems during memtest. Strange huh I was getting ready to buy a brand new motherboard too but I guess I'll see first.
