Title: GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 DisplayPort monitor not detected
Post by: josj on April 23, 2012, 09:11:10 am
Hi.

I have a GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 that I have been using with one monitor connected to DVI for quite some time. Now I wanted to connect a second monitor using the DisplayPort connection (which should work according to the manual). But the monitor connected on DisplayPort is not detected by the computer, and does not show any output. It does not work during POST either, and it does not work if I connect it as the only display. Do I have to do something to make the DisplayPort work, or should it work out of the box?
It works if I connect the second display using HDMI.

Hi and welcome.

Where you are going wrong I expect is that you are not using an active adaptor for the display port to monitor. I am assuming that your monitor is not a native display port variety. Change the adaptor to an active version and you should find it will work fine.

Ah, OK I did not know that there were active DP-DVI adapters. Is this only needed for some computers, because this monitor works when connected with the same cable to a laptop.
