Title: Z77 will not complete p.o.s.t
Post by: Lee400 on May 03, 2012, 04:24:33 am
Have a strange issue with a z77x-ud5h. When I try booting am getting message bios has been reset do you wish to 1. continue 2.reset default settings 3. enter bios setup (maybe not exactly word for word or even correct order am writing this by memory) however none of the usb are working, tried onboard usb2, usb3, headers but am unable to go further as keyboard not functioning, dont have another usb keyboard but tried the keyboard on two other pcs and keyboard working fine. Tried both bioses same issue. post digital display stops at A6 which I read is enumeration of icsi ports. Any help appreciated. Hardware I3770k, 16gb corsair vengeance using on board display.

Hi and welcome.

Sounds like you are having a bit of bad luck there. I think that the first thing is to make sure that you have a BIOS on the motherboard that supports your IvyBridge processor. Can you confirm which BIOS you have at present ?

I had problems on my board getting into the bios,  had to use an older usb keyboard,  I think this issue is ment to be fixed in the F7 Bios.

There is a problem with some USB keyboards on this board,i'm useing (corsair k90,logitech510) and i cant get into the bios ,lucky me i have old usb keyboard that works then i tryed latest offical F6 bios still same result so i flash the board with beta bios F6I (F8a is latest beta bios now) that fixed my keyboard problem :) im not sure with latest beta bios if there is a problem again with usb keyboards, so you need to get a working keyboard to flash your bios, befor you get another keyboard try to reset CMOS see if that help.

Well I always keep a PS2 keyboard  for just such an eventuallity and have never had problems using the BIOS with it. I would advise you to do the same.

I expect that this is one of those glitches that will be fixed in a future BIOS upgrade.

I have a G1 Sniper M3 and 3770K ready to build but am waiting for a problem to be sorted out before I can go ahead. Then I will be able to look into this issue with the USB keyboard accesss as I have a few USB wired and wireless keyboards to try.

I was going on the Sniper M3 that I have and that does have a PS2 input. I hadn't noticed that there was a difference in that area.

Finally managed to install windows! Updated bios with @bios (gigabyte app) but it only offered me version 5 but I think version 6 has been released any information regarding the bios situation gratefully accepted!

I would recommend using QFlash over @BIOS anyway but you can downloads the F6 version that you are after here :
